Samples of Coursework
The following are written samples indicating my proficiency in the indicated target areas.
Linguistic Proficiency
These samples, both produced in the Spring of 2022 while studying abroad in Alicante, Spain demonstrate my written Spanish abilities through vocabulary, grammar, syntax, organization, transitions, and complexity of topics.
Culture Competency
These samples, produced in the Spring and Summer of 2021 and the Fall of 2022, respectively, demonstrate culture competency through the critical analysis of sociohistorical texts describing cultural phenomenon as a result of larger legal systems and societal structures, nuanced by geography and the passing of time.
Literature and Humanities
The first two samples, both produced in the Fall of 2021 at Clemson University, demonstrate my ability to critically analyze and engage with dense and complex texts, providing thoughtful commentary and reflection nuance to the presented ideas and theories. The third sample is from an advanced Spanish poetry class in Spring 2022 at the University of Alicante, demonstrating my ability to analyze more complex and artistic forms of the Spanish language.
